More Jamaicans are showing an expressed interest in the recently announced Catherine Estates development (formerly Bernard Lodge Estate) to be done by the Housing Agency.
The Housing Agency of Jamaica (HAJ) is slated to build 1,650 studio and one-bedroom homes in St. Catherine, under a joint venture partnership with China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC), at a cost of approximately $9.5 billion.
The contractor on the $8.4 billion Rhyne Park housing development in Rose Hall, St James has given the assurance that Jamaicans will make up at least 70 per cent of the workforce to construct the 754 houses earmarked for the project.
